The Comitato Torino Finanza presents the Fifth Report of the Observatory on Innovative Startups, on Dec. 7, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Kepler Room of the Center for Molecular Biotechnology, Via Nizza 52 in Turin.
In the modern global economy, the speed of change has become normal. Therefore, the life of companies, their "biological" cycle, is shortening. The time of founding accelerates, the time of expansion contracts, and the time of maturity, followed by revival or decline, also comes first. In an economy with faster biological cycles, the size and robustness of an area depends greatly on the mechanism for new startups to appear on the scene. We need all kinds of them, but especially those that incorporate innovations, because before they mature they will produce growth in product per employee and thus per capita income.
The fifth edition of the Observatory on Innovative Startups in Piedmont takes stock based on the balance sheets of startups born in the past decade and calculates their contribution to regional Value Added (GDP). The numbers and characteristics of Piedmontese startups are compared with the benchmark of neighboring territories in northern Italy.
The progress of startups is rich in facets and singularities, to understand which the report studies ten exemplary entrepreneurial cases, representative of the main sectors and territories. Delving into the cases, thanks to the voices of their protagonists, we understand the most delicate points of the mechanisms of birth and development of these enterprises, drawing lessons from mistakes not to be made and good practices to be disseminated, to make Piedmont more and more a land for high-potential startups and startuppers.
