OGR Torino opens applications to NextEdu, an EduTech startups accelerator

OGR is opening its doors to support innovative companies in the field of education, in collaboration with xEdu, one of Europe's leading accelerators in the field.

NextEdu is a new project developed by OGR Torino, Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT and xEdu, Europe's leading accelerator supporting startups in the education sector, based in Finland. The programme is therefore aimed at all innovative Italian and European companies that deal with technologies, products and services designed to renew teaching and training. It’s intended not only for students and teachers in schools of all levels, but also for the companies and their employees.

Registration is open until the 18th of March (at this link) and the programme will run from May to October: during this period, the ten selected startups will work in the OGR Torino spaces. The operational support of xEdu will be used to assist the startups in their market entry and internationalization strategies for the solutions they propose in the educational and professional spheres. At the end of the programme, the young accelerated companies will be reimbursed for their expenses and will be introduced to a network of investors and OGR Tech partner companies during the so-called Demo Day, at the end of their path.

Massimo Lapucci, CEO of OGR Torino and Secretary General of Fondazione CRT, commented: "EduTech is the new frontier of human capital training, which has always been at the heart of the mission carried out by Fondazione CRT, and which today is relaunching its investment in this strategic area for the present and the future of the next generation. The programme is a concrete response to one of today's main challenges: leveraging the potential of artificial intelligence, virtual reality and, more generally, digital technologies, to optimize knowledge transfer processes and ensure fair and inclusive access to good education, in line with a fundamental objective of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. The accelerator will select EduTech startups to help them grow and will also look at the corporate and training world, teaching new skills for the evolving working world. If it’s true that we don't know the future professions yet, then it’s extremely important to create programmes to teach the skills of tomorrow“.
