Utravel, born two years ago as a startup spinoff of the Alpitour Group dedicated to travel for university students and under 30, aims to propose new ways of traveling and discovering the world, transforming the vacation into an adventure made of meeting and dialogue. Utravel also wants to make travelers aware of the environmental impact of travel and tourism, educating them in the search for sustainability.
On Saturday, July 17, Utravel organized the event "Let's clean Turin with Utravel" in which many young people participated to help make the city cleaner and greener. Waste was collected from the banks of the river Dora and the event ended with a sustainable aperitif, to strengthen the experience of the participants with a moment of informal discussion. The community has been accompanied in the collection of waste by Andrea Vico, journalist, science popularizer and university professor who has guided boys and girls in the recovery of more than 15 kg of plastic, cigarettes, paper, metal and various kinds of waste.
The Utravel community has already been involved in other similar initiatives with the intention of transmitting its corporate philosophy based on a systemic approach to environmental sustainability: greater awareness and sensitivity and the compensation of one's own ecological footprint to reduce one's negative impact on the planet..
Lucrezia Lessio, Social Media and Community Specialist at Utravel, commented: "After a beach clean-up activity in Liguria in May, we wanted to engage by taking care of a place we love: our city, Turin. Our goal is to generate a positive change in people, show by example virtuous behaviors and lay the groundwork for even greater future actions."
