Facile.it acquires the 100% of the startup MiaCar

The integration between the two offers will result in an online package of 360° services for those wishing to buy a car.

Facile.it Facile.it expands its business, currently focused on the online comparison of third party services, to include the direct sale of new and 0 Km vehicles. The company controlled by the EQT Fund enters this new segment with the acquisition of the company MiaCar which will retain Lorenzo Sistino in his current role as CEO, 59-year-old who became a startupper in 2017 after a 28-year career in the automotive sector, 11 of which working closely alongside Sergio Marchionne.

His company, born and raised in Turin, employs 25 people with an average age of 30: "Having young people around is a good thing, it helps me to deal with new generations and stay young and allows me to transfer expertise. I always tell them that if you do something you have to believe in it, both in the old and in the new economy: good ideas alone don't go anywhere". MiaCar's equity shares also include those of Fabio Busatto, Matteo Gallo and Fabio Sferruzzi, among the founders of Talent Garden in Turin, Alberto Bombassei (Brembo), Silvia Merlo (President Saipem), Synesthesia Srl and Paolo Ramondetti (Pictet).

"Like Facile.it, MiaCar represents in its sector an excellent example of integration between channels. We have built our success on technological excellence and attention to the end user, which is why we are certain that this acquisition will be a further step forward for the Group", commented Diego Palano, general manager of Facile.it. "The automotive sector has always been one of the pillars of the Italian economy", he continued, "and it will be even more so after the experience of the pandemic since, as certified by various analyses, there are many of our compatriots who intend to buy a vehicle or travel a lot more by car following this period". In fact, as Sistino himself confirmed, "After the pandemic, MiaCar recorded an important acceleration because people's familiarity with the use of electronic devices has grown. The market is going in this direction, irreversibly: the distribution of the car will pass from the web, the customer likes it and if the customer is happy, things work".

MiaCar closed 2020 at 1.2 million euros, working with 200 dealers on its web app. In addition to the CEO, the entire team will also be retained and, as promised by Sistino, the goal is to continue to grow this business thanks to this integration, which in addition to offering support to buy a car at the best price, directly from a dealer by conveniently comparing offers from different outlets without having to physically visit them, will also allow the purchase and integration of a whole range of online additional services thanks to the offer of Facile.it.
