A 92 million euros call for energy efficiency for Piedmont businesses coming in January

The amount will be allocated to measures concerning energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy.

The regional government has approved a notice aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in the Piedmont region with the goal of reducing primary energy consumption and promoting the use of renewable sources. The aim is to improve the efficiency not only of production facilities but also of other buildings belonging to companies, reducing costs related to energy consumption and, in parallel, improving environmental sustainability by lowering carbon dioxide emissions.

The intervention is made possible by the allocation of 91.8 million euros from the Regional Sustainable Development Fund 21-27 divided as follows:

  • 68 million euros to set up high-efficiency cogeneration plants , rationalize production cycles, make efficient use of energy, and for energy efficiency and savings in business buildings;
  • 23.8 million euros for the promotion of green energy through the installation and production of plants based on the exploitation of renewable sources, the production of green hydrogen, the implementation of energy storage and accumulation systems .

President Alberto Cirio and councillors Matteo Marnati and Andrea Tronzano commented: "This is one of the most heartfelt and most important measures dedicated to energy efficiency for businesses and to promote energy from renewable sources. The year 2023 will be dedicated to structural measures to lower energy costs and make our businesses competitive. Supporting and helping businesses to grow competitively while respecting the environment is one of the cornerstones of business development in our area. We are very proud to be able to approve this measure."
