DiaSorin, an Italian multinational company in the field of biotechnology, and Politecnico di Torino have signed an agreement to define the beginning of a collaboration on new research, innovation and training projects. DiaSorin and its homonym foundation have long been dedicated to training talents with a scientific/technological background, promoting the fundamental role played by scientific culture in the progress of society.
The agreement was signed at the Politecnico, in Corso Duca degli Abruzzi in Turin, where Rector Guido Saracco received Ugo Gay, Vice President of Industrial Operations at DiaSorin.
The projects that will be implemented will aim to generate and find excellence in research and training, in order for the results to have a positive impact on the local economy and production. In the same way, DiaSorin and the Politecnico di Torino have the common goal to spread interest in scientific and technological culture through training and educational events, conventions, conferences and workshops. In addition, the multinational company and the Turin university will participate together in national, regional, European and international research calls for proposals in support of R&D and innovation.
Guido Saracco, Rector of the Politecnico di Torino, commented: "I am sure that this agreement will bring further added value to the training of our students and to the possibility of developing new research projects. It is of great importance to exploit all possible synergies with companies of DiaSorin's calibre in order to train the professionals of tomorrow. We need them to understand the needs of the life sciences sector and to contribute to the creation of new research scenarios.”
Ugo Gay, Vice President Industrial Operations of DiaSorin, added: "This collaboration with an internationally recognised excellence such as the Politecnico di Torino will allow DiaSorin to attract new talents and lays the foundations for the creation of a common network at international level".
