"Four very good finalists, who contribute to the ecosystem of innovation in Italy. It was not a simple choice but I think that in the end it was the experience and success stories that determined Enrico Chiapparoli's success. Congratulations to everyone and especially to Enrico". Andrea Rota, President of the jury, commented on yesterday's award ceremony for Business Angel of the year.
During the live streaming event of Club degli Investitori the jury, headed by the winner of the 2019 edition and composed of the main protagonists of investments in innovation and startups in Italy, voted the Business Angel of the Year 2020. As finalists there were four representatives of Italian business angel investing:
Enrico Chiapparoli: Italy Country Manager & Head of EME Automotive of Barclays
Andrea February: Co-Founder of Teads.tv
Antonella Grassigli: CEO & Co-Founder of Doorway
Annamaria Tartaglia: CEO & Founder of TheBrandSitter
Chiapparoli is the private investor who has distinguished himself for his investment and support to innovative Italian companies: has invested in 25 startups - including, in recent times, Biogenera, Greenbone Ortho, Musement, Inventia, Angodroid, ProxToMe - and has 3 exits assets (Inventia, Musement and Qurami). During the award ceremony, the winner declared: "This is a very important recognition for me. I started in 2011 to invest as a business angel and it is an activity that I have carried on with so much passion, with so much will, and in which I believe very much. I thank the Jury, Andrea Rota, and Club degli Investitori for the trust shown with this award. In 2021" - continues Chiapparoli - "there will be new investments, hopefully some new exits and I hope to contribute even more to the growth of this activity".
The award was organized by Club degli Investitori with the support of UniCredit and KPMG as sponsor. The partners of the event were: Social Innovation Monitor (Polytechnic of Turin), Italian Embassy in London, Italian Angels for Growth, Italian Angels for Biotech and Angels for Women.
