+192.6% in revenue over the four-year period 2016-2019, with an absolute growth rate of +2,404%. So LMM Logistics, with its € 15 mln revenues in 2020, has climbed the ranking of the 269 Italian companies present in the FT1000 2021 of the Financial Times, reaching the 35th place in the overall ranking.
The company, born 6 years ago, works by offering logistics services for the food sector to large-scale retailers in the north-central part of our country. The activity is developed through three SBUs that deal with the management of logistics hubs and their interaction with product preparation centers, the management of retail channels in stores and the management of inventory and shelf replenishment procedures. The recent surge in growth was made possible by the development of a dedicated logistics channel for online shopping platforms, due to the sudden change in the landscape of offering this type of service due to the pandemic emergency and the total lockdown in spring 2020.
Despite the fact that the company's main activities take place on customer-owned premises - among which are brands such as Carrefour, Conad, Mercatò, Eurospin, Il Gigante and Crai - LMM Logistics has invested €700,000 in the preparation of 30,000 square meters of owned warehouses intended both for the logistics management of e-commerce channels and for operations to ensure proper maintenance of the refrigeration chains for products that require it.
In this year's FT1000, Italy ranked higher than other countries for the first time, with companies and startups operating in the fields of energy, travel, new media and foodtech. Some of the other Italians featured are Gellify at number 37 thanks to its networking platform between startups and traditional companies, one of the world's leading software houses in terms of downloads Bending Spoons ranked 79th, followed by business travel startup BizAway at the 88th place, and e-commerce companies Velvet Media and Brandon Group at 201st and 243rd respectively.
