Participate in the new call of the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo dedicated to under-30s as activators of participation and civic engagement on issues, needs and opportunities directly identified by them.

The Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo believes in young people as a development resource for society as a whole and therefore launches the new call: SparkZ. Young people who activate. Consistent with the European Union Youth Strategy 2019-2027, whose objective is to encourage the participation of young people in democratic life, support engagement in social and civic life and to ensure their active participation, the foundation supports paths that enable young people under 30 to act as informed, aware and active citizens.The call is aimed at young people so that:

• identify needs and problems considered urgent and/or important;
• are protagonists indevising and proposing solutions to needs identified as relevant;
• deploy methodologies, techniques and tools that facilitate the participation of citizens and local communities.

Who can participate in the call

• Informal groups composed of at least 5 young people aged between 18 and 30 living in Piedmont, Liguria, Valle d'Aosta;
• Non-profit organisations formally constituted with at least 75% young people aged between 18 and 30 in the governing body and operating in Piedmont and/or Liguria and/or Valle d'Aosta. The organisation must be an entity eligible for grants from the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, as indicated in the Implementation Guidelines of the Regulation of Institutional Activities of the foundation.

Proposals may be submitted:

• aimed at favouring active participation of the population and therefore including actions that actively involve both the direct beneficiaries of the initiatives and the proposing group/organisation;
• concerning any field of intervention, as long as they are developed with participatory methodologies;
• with different levels of definition: ideas, initiatives, projects;
• to be implemented in the territories of Piedmont, Liguria and Valle d’Aosta.

Timeline

Applications must be received by 14:00 on April 12, 2024. This call is the first part of a multi-stage process that will see throughout 2024 the incubation of the selected proposals through listening to identify needs, training and technical accompaniment to support the development of the proposals and to strengthen the team.

The selected initiatives can be implemented in 2025 (phase 2: implementation/implementation).

The SparkZ Roadshow

Starting in February, the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation will kick off the SparkZ Roadshow! A real tour in Piedmont, Liguria and Valle d’Aosta in collaboration with different territorial realities where young people who want to submit their applications will be able to learn more about all the opportunities made available by the SparkZ call..
