Torino Cities of the Future Techstars Accelerator expands: applications open for Techstars Transformative World Torino

This program focuses on companies that will enable profound transformation and radical impact in defining the future of various industries and geographies.

Techstars' Torino Cities of the Future accelerator has announced the expansion of its program. Broadening its perspective with respect to Smart Mobility and Cities of the Future themes, from the next edition it will expand its scope to become Techstars Transformative World Torino. This evolution is designed to invest in and support companies that are not only shaping the future of mobility and urban life, but also those that are creating lasting change in tomorrow's world.

The Techstars global network helps entrepreneurs succeed. Founded in 2006, Techstars was born with three simple ideas: entrepreneurs create a better future for everyone, collaboration fosters innovation, and great ideas can come from anywhere. The current mission is to enable every person on the planet to contribute to and benefit from the success of entrepreneurs. In addition to managing accelerator programs and venture capital funds, Techstars connects startups, investors, companies and cities to help build growing startup communities. Techstars has invested in more than 3,700 companies with a combined market capitalization of $98.6 billion..

The Turin accelerator program again this year confirms the successful partnership with Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, Fondazione CRT (through Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT) and Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center. The venue will continue to be the OGR Torino, a key innovation hub in this city's vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.

So far, companies accelerated by Techstars' Turin programs have raised more than 85 million euros and have been completed the two exits of Nickelytics and ThinkOutside. These results underscore the value and impact of Techstars' accelerator program and are a key momentum in this phase of evolution toward "Transformative World..

Also continuing are collaborations with Torino City Lab and with venture capital and local companies. This allows Techstars to offer startups an acceleration program rooted in the local area, as it has been over the past four years of operation, and embedded strongly in a ecosystem that fosters innovation, facilitates connections and propels startups toward success.

The sectors the program invests in have the potential to generate considerable environmental and social value in line with Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within a few years. Thegoal is to shape the Transformative World i.e., to create a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient future.

Applications are open and cover the following areas:

  • Decarbonization/Net Zero/Circular Economy
  • Health & Safety
  • AI Technologies & Advanced Computing
  • Digital Asset Creator Communities
  • Exponential Intelligence or AI 2.0
  • Quantum Computing
  • Cybersecurity
  • Ambient Experience
  • Hyperautomation
