Techstars Transformative World Torino Demo Day and Venture Day at OGR

Turin's innovation ecosystem came together for two events organised by Techstars, with the collaboration of LIFTT.

Last week was held at the OGR Torino the Demo Day of Techstars Transformative World Torino, the final day of the fifth edition of the acceleration programme for Italian and foreign innovative startups dedicated to smart cities and technologies for a changing world. The 12 startups, 6 of which Italian, from the class of 2024, selected from over 300 applications from all over the world, met possible investors, technological and industrial partners and representatives of universities, study centres and production categories.

The new edition of the programme focused on attracting, accelerating and investing in high-potential Italian and foreign startups operating in sectors such asArtificial intelligence, the Quantum Computing, the Cybersecurity,Ambient Experience and theHyperautomation in compliance with ESG, Net-Zero and Circular Economy criteria and logic.

At the same time, LIFTT organised with Techstars the Venture Day Torino, dedicated to the world of venture capital, during which experts in the sector had the opportunity to discuss emerging market trends and investment opportunities offered by frontier technologies, ranging from the specificities and potential of the Italian ecosystem to the synergies that can be established with players on the European scene.

The space of OGR, thanks to its proximity and privileged relationship with the Politecnico di Torino and the support of institutional players such as the Links Foundation and Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, is increasingly confirmed as a crossroads of Italian innovation and a privileged location for both "game changer" startups and companies that transform the paradigms of a sector or a market through the development of highly innovative products and services.

During the panels, thanks to contributions from, among others, Club degli Investitori, Equiter Spa, Machine Ventures, Feel Venture, Neva Sgr, Rethink Ventures, the need and desire emerged to rethink the system with a view to increasing collaboration among players so that the Italian scene can keep pace with its European partners and that a process of internationalisation for the Italian venture capital sector can be fully accomplished.
