The Turin Auto Show 2025 will launch the first edition of the Turin Automotive Design Award, an international recognition created to celebrate the quality and aesthetic value of contemporary automotive design, paying particular attention to projects from China, the official partner country. The initiative aims to bring Europe and Asia into dialogue through aesthetics, technological innovation, sustainability and a human-centered vision.
The award is organized under the patronage of the Piedmont Region and the City of Turin. Partners include Italdesign, which took care of the visual identity and the official trophy, and Auto&Design, media partner and curator of the jury.
The logo, designed by Massimo Borrelli of Italdesign, is a dynamic closed shape with taut lines that recall a car track and symbolize the encounter between Piedmontese tradition and the rise of Chinese design. It can be rotated and read as an “embrace”, a gesture of openness and circularity between cultures. The trophy is its three-dimensional projection: a slender shape in carbon fiber with cinnabar lacquer finishes, designed for apowerful and ergonomically designed aesthetic impact, with the engraving of the name along the body and a detached plate for the award category.

The jury It is made up of important names in Italian car design: Joaquin Garcia (Italdesign), Fabrizio Giugiaro (GFG Style), Felix Kilbertus (Pininfarina), Samuel Chuffart (Icona Design), Giuliano Maria Biasio (Torino Design), Luciano D’Ambrosio (LDA Design), Michael Robinson (Blue Engineering Design), Lowie Vermeersch (Granstudio) and Domenico Lubrano (Erre Design).
The award ceremony will take place on Friday 26 September 2025 at 15:00 at the Royal Palace of Turin, during the press day of the Turin Auto Show, which will take place from 26 to 28 September. This event is part of an open and widespread urban format, which transforms the center of Turin into a showcase of mobility: over 40 participating brands, exhibition areas in Piazza Castello, Piazzetta Reale and the Royal Gardens, with free access, installations, test drives and B2B meetings and workshops.
The Turin Automotive Design Award represents a fusion of tradition and future and aims to consolidate Turin as the European capital of automotive design and to promote global synergies between creativity, technology and sustainability.
