The Piedmont Region allocates 27 million euros for SME exports until 2029

The Region allocates resources from the ERDF for sectoral aggregations and actions on foreign markets, with a call expected next spring.

The Council of the Piedmont Region has approved a loan of 27,170,000 euros for the internationalization of small and medium-sized enterprises through the Integrated Supply Chain Projects for the four-year period 2026-2029. This initiative, funded by the 2021-2027 ERDF Regional Program, aims to consolidate the competitiveness of Piedmontese companies abroad by promoting collaborations between companies in specific sectors.

The Integrated Supply Chain Projects are configured as a proven tool to organize the Piedmontese presence on international markets. Through strategic aggregations, SMEscan develop coordinated projections that align with the regional Smart Specialisation Strategy, known as S3. Priority sectors include Automotive & Transportation, Aerospace, Cleantech & Green Building, Textiles and High-End, Agri-food and Agritech, Microelectronics and Automation, Health and Wellness, ICT, with an opening to further sectors with high growth potential.

The effectiveness of the model emerges from the results of previous editions. In the two-year period 2024-2025 , 227 internationalization activities were completed, involving over 3,100 Piedmontese companies. In 2025 alone, there were 117 initiatives involving almost 1,600 companies, including international trade fairs, business conventions and B2B workshops, fostering new business relationships and better foreign positioning.

The funded activities range from system interventions, such as territorial animation, training and support for aggregations, to concrete investment actions. The latter include participation in trade fairs abroad, bilateral B2B meetings, economic missions, initiatives to digitize the commercial offer and direct assistance on target markets.

The selected companies will access non-repayable grants up to a maximum of 20,000 euros for each Integrated Supply Chain Project, disbursed under the de minimis regime. The public call for applications will open in the spring of 2026, as announced on the official portal of the Piedmont Region.
