Turin is preparing to become the beating heart of technological innovation in Italy, with a leading role in the international artificial intelligence scene. OGR Torino, already a reference point for innovation, will be the “home of Italian artificial intelligence” for ten years, thanks to the memorandum of understanding signed between the CRT Foundation, OGR Torino and the AI4Industry Foundation. An agreement that not only represents a fundamental step for the technological future of the country, but also aims to consolidate Turin as a center of excellence in the field of AI.
The project aims to generate a concrete impact on the Italian economy and society . OGR Torino, with over 300 million euros of investments attracted by startups in the last five years, will become the engine for the development of AI, aiming to create qualified jobs and stop the flight of talent, directing them towards new opportunities in Italy.
The CRT Foundation, with its strategic vision, and the AI4Industry Foundation, committed to the application of artificial intelligence, will collaborate to build an ecosystem that stimulates innovation and encourages the birth of new startups. The goal is to apply AI in key sectors such as manufacturing, health and services, to increase the competitiveness of Italian industry globally.
Anna Maria Poggi, President of the CRT Foundation, said: “The ambition is to make the OGR a reference hub for national innovation, enhancing synergies and stimulating the development of new companies related to artificial intelligence”.
The signed agreement provides for the involvement of various actors, from the academic to the business world, to promote sustainable, innovative and inclusive growth. The project represents a decisive step to make Italian industry more competitive internationally, exploiting the potential of AI to respond to global challenges.
This ten-year commitment will not only foster the growth of Italian companies, but will also help Turin to continue its evolution, transforming its industrial tradition into a development engine for artificial intelligence, consolidating the city as the beating heart of the digital revolution.
