On Saturday, December 13th, at the SAA – School of Management in Turin, a new day will be held for the Executive Master in Open Innovation & Intellectual Property, the joint program between the University of Turin and Luiss Business School now in its tenth edition. The morning will be dedicated to a crucial theme for the future of the territories: how to design, support and grow local innovation ecosystems.
Marco Fantozzi, Project Manager of ToTeM – Torino Tech Map, will open the proceedings, invited to present the evolution of the platform and its now recognized role within the Turin ecosystem. The speech is part of the course “Financial instruments and public policies for innovation”, conducted by Paolo Mulassano and Michele Osella, both of the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, a national reference point in policies for innovation and territorial development.
In his speech, Fantozzi will explore three central guidelines to understand the evolution and competitiveness of ToTeM.
1. Local connectedness: the importance of quality connections
Following the perspectives of Startup Genome, the role of the quality of relationships between startups, investors, universities, corporates and institutions will be analyzed. ToTeM confirms itself as a fundamental activator in making these connections denser, faster and more effective.
2. The transformation of ToTeM from a digital project to a phygital platform
Fantozzi will illustrate ToTeM’s transition from an online mapping of the ecosystem to a platform that integrates events, physical initiatives, networking moments and community building activities in the area, as well as a redesign of events to make them even more useful and oriented to the needs of startups.
3. ToTeM for Founders services
Among the topics at the center of the testimony are also the most recent developments of the ToTeM for Founders service: a point of contact with the entire Turin innovation ecosystem thatsupports every phase of the entrepreneurial path of local startups, helping them to find the right interlocutors to help them in their growth path.
Turin is progressively strengthening its position as an innovation hub thanks to the growth of university programs, specialized investors, incubators and open innovation initiatives. In this context, ToTeM plays an increasingly recognized role in giving visibility to the ecosystem, connecting its actors and fostering new collaborations.
