The Demo Day of Impact Deal, the program promoted by Fondazione CRT and OGR Torino, coordinated by TOP-IX with the scientific supervision of Fondazione ISI and the strategic partnership of Microsoft, which involved the 15 European startups , took place today in Platform 3 of OGR Torino selected to transform data into social and environmental value. During the event, companies presented their most innovative solutions to investors, potential partners and institutions.
Among the protagonists stand out innovative companies such as Danu Robotics, which offers robotic systems to automate waste sorting and was also selected for the SXSW London Venture Spotlight Competition; Latitudo40 which has recently renewed its Earth Observation and data-driven decision making platform, also obtaining a contribution from the City of Turin for the “ToMove4Future” Call4Testing; SWITCH, after a round of around 1 million euros, offers solutions for the smart management of company fleets; LOKI, finalist of Impact Deal and among the “Top 50” European Startups for Mobility, is the winner of the jury prize at the AI Festival of “We Make Future” with a road defect mapping system; Fusebox, an Estonian scaleup active in 13 countries, which deals with the integrated management of energy production and storage; Zerow, awarded with the Best Luxury Startup Award, stands out for the circular reuse of waste from the fashion industry; Minervas, which has developed an adaptive eco-driving solution in real time, winning the innoVaction call promoted by Fastweb+Vodafone. Other finalist projects include Containergrid, Enzum, Legal-Pythia, Lit, Overtone, Vaimee and Veridis, which focus on topics such as energy efficiency, ESG monitoring, access to information, railway maintenance, water management and improving plastics recycling. In addition to these, PantoHealth, part of the EIT Urban Mobility network, thanks to which it received direct access to phase 2 of the programme.
The finalist startups were selected from the initial group of 29 companies that participated in the first phase of the program, chosen from 129 applications, with an increase of 63% compared to the previous edition. A clear sign of the project’s growth is also the ability of the selected startups to attract investment: at the time of entry into the program, in fact, they boasted a total capital raised of more than 78.2 million euros, recording an increase of 303% compared to the previous year. A result also made possible by the doubling of the number of participating companies.
The day was enriched by the participation of John McIlwaine, Senior Regional Representative for Italy and Malta of the European Investment Fund, who took part in a fireside chat on the role and European policies in support of startups and entrepreneurship.
The third edition of Impact Deal was carried out in collaboration with Ashoka, Impact Hub, Impact Europe, DIHP, Mesap Innovation Cluster and Torino Social Impact, and benefits from the contribution of Advaneo GmbH, Almawave, Bright Data, Città di Torino, Cuebiq, Open Data Hub, Planet Smart City, Banca Sella, Tim and WindTre, members of the Data Club.
