Applications are officially open for the sixth edition of the Techstars Accelerator in Turin. Techstars invites startups and entrepreneurs to participate in the second edition of the Techstars Transformative World Torino Accelerator, with the deadline for the submission of applications set for November 20th.
Over the past five years, Techstars has invested in over 50 companies from around the world, from the United States to Portugal, the United Kingdom to Vietnam. These companies, which operate in areas as diverse as B2B and B2C, hardware and software, mobility, cryptocurrencies, artificial intelligence, quantum and EdTech, all have something in common: they are led by visionary teams who break the mold and who, thanks to unique insights, are building innovative companies.
In the period between 2020 and 2023, these startups collectively raised over $100 million. Three of them have been acquired, some have encountered obstacles along the way, while others have grown to become companies with more than 200 employees. Some of them have even become buyers of other companies.
For the next edition, Techstars is looking for 12 teams to participate in the program starting in February 2025. The Turin-based team has always had a keen eye for hidden potential, investing in business models that initially seemed risky, but ultimately turned out to be successful. He supported teams when no one was doing it and brought entrepreneurs to Turin, proving that it is possible to build global companies from here too.
Despite the differences, the founders who participate in Techstars share core characteristics: they see opportunities that others don’t notice, they are ambitious, innovative, and determined to break with the status quo. They dream big, act fast, and base their decisions on hard data. They are unstoppable: if they find an obstacle, they overcome, bypass or knock it down.
During the program, founders will experience all the challenges and joys of entrepreneurship. We laugh together, celebrate successes and face difficulties. The journey is never lonely: support comes from a network of mentors, corporate partners and investors, as well as from the dedicated team made up of Martin, Sheila, Virginia, Emanuele and Nicola.
In addition, Techstars’ corporate partners – Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo, Fondazione CRT and Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center – offer valuable resources, access to international networks and industry expertise. Each accepted startup receives up to $120,000 in investment and ongoing support for life.
This year there are no major changes compared to the past: the strategy remains solid. Techstars does not invest in ideas, but in teams, without sectoral limits. The goal is to build a future that will be radically different from the present.
As always, startups from all over the world are sought, with a particular focus on Europe. Founders must be prepared to face the ups and downs of the entrepreneurial journey, be driven by a strong passion and have insights that few others possess. They will have to be ready to handle both wins and failures.
The idea with which they start can evolve, and it is normal that it happens. Whatever the project, if the founders are determined and passionate, Techstars wants to hear from them and help them build their dreams.
Applications are already open! Techstars will be visiting several European cities in the coming months, so follow their LinkedIn page for updates. If you want to learn more about the program, you can book a 1:1 meeting during Office Hours.
