Our partners' initiatives during the International Festival of Economics in Turin

The third edition of the Festival conceived by Tito Boeri will focus on the theme 'Who holds the knowledge?'

The third edition of the International Festival of Economics is just around the corner: Turin is preparing to host this internationally important event from May 30 to June 2, 2024. This year, the central theme of the initiative, conceived by Tito Boeri, will be 'Who possesses knowledge?'.

The Circolo dei Lettori hosted the official presentation of the Festival, during which a series of previews were provided on the details of the event and the important personalities and prominent realities that in a few days will animate this initiative in our city: Nobel prizes, Italian and international speakers from the most renowned research centers globally, journalists, historians, analysts and influential representatives of Italian and European institutions.

The International Festival of Economics in Turin is an initiative of Editori Laterza, with the scientific direction of Tito Boeri, and the support of numerous local institutions, including Fondazione Compagnia di San PaoloPiedmont RegionCity of Turin, Fondazione CRT, Università degli Studi di Torino, Politecnico di Torino, Turin Chamber of CommerceUnioncamere PiemonteUnione Industriali Torino and LegacoopPiemonte.

Set within the framework of TorinoFutura Generation of Culture, the International Festival of Economics is a key event for the city, which aims to become a point of reference in the debate on economics and culture globally.

Some of the main partners of our ToTeM Torino Tech Map project will take part in the talks of this edition of the festival.

Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo

The Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo will host two panels focused on the issues of innovation and knowledge.

The May 31, 2024, at 19:00, the Museo del Risorgimento in Turin, in the impressive Aula Camera Italiana, will be the scene of the event 'Are startups the garrison of knowledge in AI?' whose focus will be on the pioneering role of startups in the field ofIntelligence Artificial.

Moderating the discussion will be Beniamino Pagliaro, editor-in-chief of La Repubblica in Turin and CEO of Good Morning Italia.

Speakers will also include Carla Patrizia Ferrari, CFO of the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and CEO at Equiter SpAalong with Marco Gay, Executive Chairman of Digital Magics, and Elena Baralis, Full Professor Department of Automation and Computer Science (DAUIN) at the Politecnico di Torino , who will initiate a dialogue related to how Turin is increasingly establishing itself as a hub of innovation, with startups that stand out for their high potential in the field of AI.

The following day, June 1, 2024, at 6pm, the Accademia delle Scienze will open the doors of the Sala Mappamondi for the event 'Building the future on data: archives as a training ground for innovation'.

Irene Cassarino, Partner at Zest Group and author of the book 'Mercati Infiniti', will moderate a panel of experts composed of Alberto AnfossiSecretary General of the Fondazione Compagnia di San PaoloLuisa Papotti, President of Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento, and Stefano Benedetto, Director of theArchivio di Stato di Torino.

Together they will explore how the digitization of archives is opening new frontiers for innovation, transforming the management and enhancement of cultural heritage into fertile ground for the future.

Turin Chamber of Commerce

The President of the Turin Chamber of Commerce Dario Gallina, on June 1 at 7 p.m. at the Museo del Risorgimento, will talk about training future business leaders between sustainability and artificial intelligence with the rector of the Politecnico di Torino and with Alberta Di Giuli, director of the Campus ESCP Business School Turin.

The panel 'Training Future Business Leaders Between Sustainability and Artificial Intelligence' will focus on how educational institutions should prepare future leaders to face the complex challenges of today's world, combining innovative skills with principles of sustainability and responsibility in the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Fondazione CRT

During the last day of the event, on June 2 at 12 noon, Maurizio Irrera, Acting President of Fondazione CRT and Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Turin, will participate in the discussion 'Corporate Governance and Artificial Intelligence' in the Sala Codici of the Museo del Risorgimento. Joining him will be Giovanni Lombardi, General Counsel of illimity Bank, and Giulia Schneider, Researcher of Economic Law at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan.

This panel will discuss how digitization is changing the face of the enterprise, with new tools for participation, management automation, and sustainable strategy setting.

Talent Garden

On May 31 at 7 p.m., the panel 'Italy between analog and digital. Are we ready for the leap?' in which will speak Davide Dattoli, President and Founder of Talent Garden. The discussion, coordinated by Nicola Lipari of Tortuga Think Thank, will also feature Francesco Olivanti, Researcher and Consultant in Public Policy, Paola Pisano, Professor of Economics and Business Management at the Università degli Studi di Torino, Gianluca Sgueo, Professor of Digital Democracy & Public Spaces at École d’Affaires Publiques SciencesPo in Paris, and Virginia Stagni, Chief Marketing Officer & Country Head of Communications at The Adecco Group Italy.

They will discuss how Italy must accelerate the pace in digitization to seize the opportunities offered by technological innovation,investing in training, business support and policies aimed at reducing inequality.
