5 million € closing for IH1, the holding company of Turin-based Mamazen

This transaction welcomes new leading investors and confirms the success of its business model based on the Dual Entity model.

IH1, the holding company of the Turin-based startup studio Mamazen, has successfully concluded a new funding round, raising a total of € 5 million during 2023. This comes after having already reached a previous target of 3.6 million in February, highlighting the continued growth and support for Mamazen's project. The project's ambitious goal is to establish 15 high-potential companies by 2026.

The new backers who have decided to join IH1's capitalinclude prominent figures such as Vincent Murphy, a mechanical engineering graduate and expert in data analysis and market research. Other new investors include Luca Campaiola, with extensive experience in the Venture Capital world and a particular focus on technology and life sciences, and Francesco Tarantinoo, entrepreneur and Business Angel with expertise in European planning, training, innovation and internationalisation. Finally, Giulio Di Blasi, currently Vice President of Refugee Hub Canada, specialising in social impact and migration on a global scale, joins the team.

Farhad Alessandro Mohammadi, CEO of Mamazen, commented on the success of IH1, emphasising the importance of investors' trust in the Startup Studio. He highlighted how the professionalism with which the project analyses the market and responds with successful entrepreneurial realities is a key element of this growth path.

Mamazen bases its business model on the Dual Entity model, a US investment approach that separates holding companies and startup studios to guarantee independence and the interests of investors, while simplifying the governance of the funded startups. This model allows Mamazen to reduce risk by developing only those ideas that have been validated and analysed in the market, while the holding company invests only in the best opportunities, further increasing the security of the studio's path.

Through this approach, Mamazen has already successfully launched several startups, including Morsy, a 100% data-driven corporate canteen service, Inpoi, a digital startup in the real estate sector, Orangogo, the first Italian portal for sports fans looking for geolocalised activities Deeva, an innovative hairdressing service, and Pelomatto, specialising in pet services.
