Torino City Lab continues with great success its activity as an open innovation laboratory for our city, designed to offer interested companies the opportunity to test their innovative solutions in real urban scenarios. From 2021, thanks to CTE NEXT , the range of opportunities for experimentation for the Smart Road in Turin has been further expanded, thanks to the implementation of 5G and IoT infrastructures applied to smart mobility.
Teoresi starts its collaboration with Torino City Lab on the Turin Smart Road circuit, a path of about 35 km designed to encourage experimentation of connected and autonomous cars, where it will test the autonomous driving algorithms it has developed for the electric citycar Yoyo, made by the innovative Turin-based car manufacturer Xev.
Teoresi Group, a Turin-based engineering company founded in 1987 that now employs 850 people in 4 countries, is developing various technologies that can be integrated into city travel vehicles to make them smarter and safer. Teoresi is working to give more and more importance to the seamless integration of cameras, detection and proximity sensors and software based on machine learning algorithms: in this way, the ability of the car to make autonomous decisions that are very important to make autonomous driving more and more efficient, such as learning how to brake or how to avoid obstacles, and tending to become more and more independent from the intervention of the human driver, will grow faster and faster.
Fabio Gadda, Marketing Program Manager of Teoresi Group, explained: "For Teoresi, the city is an area of experimentation of its frontier innovations and with the partners of the territory it wants to promote joint testing activities and develop innovative projects within the ecosystem of Turin.”
