The Comitato Torino Finanza is an organ of the Turin Chamber of Commerce that can count on a solid membership base, with 15 representatives of Piedmont's economy and finance, and that works to develop a competitive environment that favors the growth of the local financial skills , allowing companies, startups and SMEs easier access to financial markets. Conceived as a nerve centre for the financial development of Piedmont, the committee is one of the Italian structures most committed to the modernization of finance for the company. With this in mind, the Torino Finanza Committee has launched the Innovative Startups Observatory 2022 survey: the aim of the research is to deepen the knowledge of the factors that condition the birth and evolution of companies involved in innovation in Piedmont. The Innovative Startup Observatory of Comitato Torino Finanza is now in its fifth edition, after those of 2005, 2007, 2011 and 2017 whose results are available online.

The Observatory has been designed to monitor the regional universe of innovative startups and for enhance the economic reconversion of Piedmont in light of the strong growth in the number of this type of entrepreneurial activity and the presence of valuable public and private technology parks and incubators in the area. The Turin Chamber of Commerce and the Torino Finanza Committee want to develop a strategy aimed at solving the most problematic aspects regarding the financing of startups, which are not always able to access venture capital funding due to problems related to the estimated profitability of the project or the way out of the investor and sometimes not even to traditional financing.

The periodic researches carried out by the Observatory aim at outlining a complete picture of the situation of the financing of innovative startups in Piedmont, starting from which it is possible to think about policy proposals for the decision makers who have the delegation of authority in this field and proposals of operational and information tools for the subjects in charge of public policy services to assist companies to successfully develop their business
