The call for ideas of Nazaré Lifelong Learning, an acceleration programme of Onde Alte Società Benefit and BCorp, which closed on 11 July, was created with the aim of offering free support to ideas and initiatives focused on improving all types of learning experiences. The projects submitted were evaluated by the Onde Alte team on the basis of their relevance and adherence to the problem proposed by the call, the level of detail and reliability of the scientific study regarding the indicated topic, their values and social impact, the effectiveness and technical level of the innovative proposal as well as the feasibility and scalability of the solution in consideration of the target market.
The project by the Algor teamwas selected from among all the proposals collected. The Algor team is a startup from Turin that uses machine learning algorithms to provide artificial intelligence solutions in support of people with specific learning disorders (SLD) to increase their productivity and reduce their difficulties, especially in tackling the most time-consuming activities. The Algor team's solution is called Algor Maps, a web app accessible from all browsers and internet-enabled devices that helps users with SLDs to create automated concept maps from text content. In this way, students with specific learning disabilities will be facilitated in finding and synthesizing the most relevant information while studying, improving their learning ability.
Algor's team is composed of young students from Politecnico di Torino, coming from all over Italy: Mauro Musarra (CEO), Matteo Tarantino (IT Director), Giovanni Cioffi (Business Developer), Fabio Frattin, Antonino Geraci, Emanuele Gusso (Software Developers).
