Esports are growing exponentially all over the world and in our country 1.5 million people attend a virtual sports event as an audience more than once a week on various streaming platforms, first of all Twitch. A statistical survey by PayPal and SuperData carried out in Italy in 2019 had recorded more than 1 million people addicted to online gaming every day and an economic value greater than € 10 mln. The same study had predicted a notable growth in these numbers in 2020, which presumably will be even higher than expected given the months of lockdown we have experienced.
