In Turin 0.5% of private vehicles circulating are electric cars and motorcycles. Although these figures are still quite small, this makes Turin the Italian city most sensitive to the electric ecological transition as it is more than double the national average of 0.2%.
Despite this, however, in Turin the columns and public charging points used by private individuals are still too few, respectively 471 and 937. For this reason, E-Gap, already operating in Milan, Rome and Bologna, has decided to bring its on-demand recharging service to our city.
The startup E-Gap has in mind, , in the near future, investments for 200 mln €, to expand the mobile charging infrastructure, its range of products and services and expansion into new countries, reaching over 200 cities in Europe and the United States. By the end of 2022, it is expected to launch in Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseille, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London, Manchester and Athens. Meanwhile, work is underway to increase the number of charging vehicles in the existing fleet, with the goal of reaching a growth of 100 units by next summer and a total of 500 green e-vans by 2024.
Eugenio de Blasio, President and Founder of E-Gap, said: "At a time of maximum attention to the European and Italian objectives for the diffusion of non-polluting vehicles, we are proud to offer a convenient and flexible service that contributes to bring citizens closer to electric mobility and to create a sustainable urban and local environment".
