Two startups from Turin at the biggest tech convention in the world

Waterview and TUC.Technology are the two representatives of our city at this year's CES Consumer Electronic Show

The 2021 edition of CES, the Consumer Electronics Showis taking place in these days. Traditionally hosted in Las Vegas but for this year in an all-digital format, CES is the world's most influential technology event where corporations and startups meet and the world's most innovative ideas are showcased. Produced by the Consumer Technology Association it features more than 30 topic areas including artificial intelligence, AR/VR/XR, connectivity, fintech and cryptocurrency, IoT, smart cities, mobility and many more.

The four-day online conference includes in its agenda the speeches of high-profile speakers from the hi-tech industry, alternating with pop culture personalities such as Dua Lipa, and the assignment of the Innovation Awards with 1200 nominated companies.

At the 2021 edition there are 53 Italian startups, a number that has been growing in recent years, thanks to the intermediation of ICE, the agency for foreign promotion and internationalization of Italian companies managed by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Among these 53 innovative realities this year there are two born and raised in Turin:

Waterviewborn in 2015 as a corporate spinoff of the Politecnico di Torino and supported by theincubator I3Pthis company deals with the use and collection of data through artificial intelligence in order to create a rapid and reliable alert system regarding episodes of potential hydro-meteorological risk. Through the CAM mechanism , it makes it possible to have real-time information on weather conditions, alerts for snowfall or major road flooding or fire alerts in order to make mobility safer and traffic on roads of all kinds more manageable.

TUC.Technology: Sergio Pininfarina, heir to the historic Turin company, co-founded this startup with the aim of redesigning the future of the car. Already incubated at I3P and participating in the program Techstars Smart Mobility, as the website states "TUC technology is a digital/structural connector to be implemented during design or restyling [...] that allows for a high-tech socket to power and connect, with a single gesture, any essential element of the mobility experience: seats, dashboards, screens or other special parts developed ad hoc."

Once again, Turin's creative vibrancy and entrepreneurial spirit are preparing to conquer the world.
